You can fit a coffee pot on this, that's about it. - Grill has terrible heat distribution. The middle is Mordor and the rest is Antarctica. - If not grilling, the grill portion is completely wasted space. - Heat control is basically two settings: sun and candle. Overall this grill isn't very good at either of the tasks it sets out to achieve. Mine has bigger knobs on either side. Propane version is my go to, especially with larger groups. The consistency of both burners is more helpful with a large griddle. Noticed comment about not being able to get a low simmer flame-recommend putting pan off to side or buying the newer, more expensive Coleman's. They have both, more power and much lower simmer. Better simmer than most house stoves. Both stoves, tents, and half a dozen latterns are pre-internet by decades! Set-up is easy and it works like any other Coleman liquid gas stove. The gas pump was stiff to start but after a few drops of oil and a few uses it was smooth and pumped with ease. I've seen multiple reviews about the quality not being the same as the older stoves but I have to disagree. Comparing them side by side, there's not much difference. On my new 424, the grate is configured a little differently and connects to the body differently but it works fine and detaches easier for cleaning than the older model stove. The lid on the newer stove is also attached differently but still works fine. I measured various parts and pieces side by side to see if the newer one was made of thinner, cheaper materials. The burner materials were the same thickness and same inner and outer diameters. The cooking grate thickness was the same. The stove body and wind screens were very similar in size and thickness. Stove weight was also very similar. Overall, there's not enough of a difference between the new and the old to make a difference. I've attached some side by side photos for comparison along with a short list of some of the measurements I did.
