Guide Series® Dual Fuel™ Stove

Bought this as a replacement for a 1979 Coleman 425F gas stove that has served me well. Since purchase, I have used this stove 6 times including initial set-up/testing at elevations from 1000 ft to 6500 ft. It has worked 100% of the time - no problems. Set-up is easy and it works like any other Coleman liquid gas stove. The gas pump was stiff to start but after a few drops of oil and a few uses it was smooth and pumped with ease. I've seen multiple reviews about the quality not being the same as the older stoves but I have to disagree. Comparing them side by side, there's not much difference. On my new 424, the grate is configured a little differently and connects to the body differently but it works fine and detaches easier for cleaning than the older model stove. The lid on the newer stove is also attached differently but still works fine. I measured various parts and pieces side by side to see if the newer one was made of thinner, cheaper materials. The burner materials were the same thickness and same inner and outer diameters. The cooking grate thickness was the same. The stove body and wind screens were very similar in size and thickness. Stove weight was also very similar. Overall, there's not enough of a difference between the new and the old to make a difference. I've attached some side by side photos for comparison along with a short list of some of the measurements I did. I would definitely recommend this dual fuel gas stove and buy it again.
